This is not a tour. It is a structured two-week academic and clinical immersion at Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, one of China's most respected institutions in the field. You will train in active hospital settings each morning and attend university coursework each afternoon, with dedicated English translation throughout.

Hospital Clinical Training
Morning sessions take place in active Nanjing hospital settings. Participants observe, and where training and supervising physician discretion permit, engage directly in clinical work alongside senior TCM doctors. Each group has a dedicated translator.

University Coursework
Daily afternoon sessions at Nanjing University of TCM cover theory, diagnostics, and clinical methodology. A full curriculum is available on request. All instruction is in English with on-site translators present throughout.

Continuing Education Credits
50 CEUs (California Acupuncture Board) and 50 PDAs (NCCAOM), plus an official certificate jointly issued by Nanjing University of TCM and the Chinese Education Department, bearing the university's official seals.

DAILY STRUCTURE
A TYPICAL DAY IN NANJING
This is not a tour. It is a structured two-week academic and clinical immersion at Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, one of China's most respected institutions in the field. You will train in active hospital settings each morning and attend university coursework each afternoon, with dedicated English translation throughout.
Monday through Friday
7:00 am - Breakfast on campus
8:00 – 11:30 - Hospital clinical training (dedicated translator per group)
12:00 – 1:00 - Lunch on campus
2:00 – 4:00 - University classroom sessions in English
6:00 pm - Dinner on campus

SATURDAY & SUNDAY
Weekends off - No scheduled programming
Optional - Main NJUTCM campus visit (approx. 45 min from downtown campus)

Temperatures range from 45 to 60 °F (7 to 16 °C). Pack layers. Business-casual attire is required for hospital rotations. A white clinic coat is required.

Accomodation
Participants enjoy staying at the hotel on campus. The facilities are clean, safe, and comfortable. There are lots of areas to explore on foot and the train station is right outside of campus. Provided meals are served on campus as well.
Visa
A Chinese tourist visa is recommended. We work with a trusted processing service (details after registration), or you may apply at your nearest Chinese consulate. Most nationalities require a visa.
Travel Insurance
Comprehensive medical and travel insurance, including emergency evacuation, is mandatory before departure. Not included in the program fee. A cancel-for-any-reason policy is strongly recommended.

Who is this program for?
Licensed practitioners and advanced students in acupuncture, Medical Qigong, and Tuina, as well as naturopaths, chiropractors, MDs, DOs, and those with a genuine clinical interest in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Participants must be 18 or older and comfortable learning in English.
Will I work with patients?
Clinical observation is guaranteed for all participants. Direct patient interaction is possible depending on your training level, the supervising doctor's judgment, and hospital protocols. No guarantees are made on hands-on participation.
What is the cancellation policy?
If you cancel after paying the full balance, refunds are issued on a sliding scale based on how far in advance you cancel. Full details are provided at registration.
How do I get a Chinese visa?
Participants are responsible for their own visa. A standard Chinese tourist visa is recommended. We work with a trusted processing service; details provided after registration. You may also apply at your nearest Chinese consulate. Most nationalities require a visa.
What about flights?
Airfare is not included. Book your own flights to and from Shanghai Pudong Airport (PVG). Plan to arrive by the afternoon of October 30. All ground transportation from PVG onward is included. Specific flight recommendations are shared with registered participants.
What are meals like?
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included Monday through Friday during the Nanjing program. Weekend meals are not included. Vegetarian options are available. Notify us of dietary restrictions or allergies at registration.
Will I have free time?
Yes. All evenings are free. Weekends have no scheduled programming. Optional cultural activities are available on weekends. Details are provided on arrival in Nanjing.
Do I need to speak Mandarin?
No. All classroom sessions are conducted in English. Each hospital group has a dedicated translator. Language support is provided throughout the entire program.
What does the deposit cover, and when is the full payment due?
Payment details will be discussed when you speak to a team member after filling out the interest form.
Do I receive a certificate?
Yes. Upon completion, you receive an official certificate from Nanjing University of TCM bearing the university's official seals, co-issued by the Chinese Education Department. The program also qualifies for 50 California CEUs and 50 PDAs (NCBAHM) - (*Pending approval).
Is travel insurance required?
Yes. Comprehensive travel and medical insurance, including emergency evacuation, is mandatory before departure. Not included in the program fee. A cancel-for-any-reason policy is strongly recommended.

The on-campus hotel in Nanjing has double occupancy with a private bathroom. This is also where all daily meals are served. Single-room upgrades are available for an additional fee, subject to availability. Hotel details provided at registration.
